Chris moved to the village in 1998 and has been playing cricket for Coton ever since. He started his playing career with Herefordshire, playing at all age-groups and captaining the under 19 side to a memorable 3-Counties tournament victory against Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. After playing college cricket at Oxford, he then honed his competitive skills with the Old Edwardians in the Birmingham League pyramid.
Chris' claim to fame is that he opened the batting for Old Edwardians with Jaques Kallis (then a 19 year old, playing in the UK on his first “professional” contract). Needless to say that Jacques was duly impressed.
Chris is completed the ECB Level One Coaching course in March 2008.
When not playing cricket, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Kate and three daughters, Hollie, Alex and Anna and the odd game of golf (this keeps his chances of scoring a hundred each season much higher).
His favourite cricketer is Jaques Kallis – surprise! |
