21 August 2008, Cambourne v Coton Well, we tried, but in the end two facts swung it. 1) Cambourne were too good for us, 2) we can't bat for toffee. Great 5 fer for Rob though! 14 August 2008, What a bloomin' summer! Call this summer???! Matches washed out against Cottenham II and Comberton (40 points gone begging there!) and one we wished had been washed out against Romsey Town. Still, at least come Christmas dinner we'll have fond memories of Alistair's match winning 60 against Cambridge Jesters to keep us talking! 6 July 2008 I've been away for a few weeks and seem to have missed all the excitement! Typical. Match reports for the Waterbeach and Longstowe games are here as well as the legendary tied match against Over. 14 June, Cambourne v Coton Talk about yo-yo. Lose to Comberton in the worst game of cricket ever one week, administer a ten wicket hammering to league leaders Cambourne the next. 8 June, Coton Crusaders record first ever wins Read Mike and Chris' somewhat breathless match report here. Great video! 7 June, Comberton v Coton Great catching, decent bowling, 3 (three!) stumpings and a run out but, George and Dave apart, the batting lets us down again! 1 June, Granta IV v Coton Sometimes cricket is just great. The sun shines, it's a good game, sometime we even win and get to talk it over in the pub as the sun sets (see Remnants below). And then there are matches like this... 24 May, Longstowe II v Coton Top ground, quality 11 (average age 55), a good supporting cast (well lots of extras at least). Match report added. 17 May, Coton v Romsey Town Rained off. Bloody English summer. 10 May, Cottenham II v Coton Scotcher cleans up. Chris off to a flyer. A pitch worse than ours! A swingin' return. Crazies in the pub. Match report added. 7 May, Remnants v Coton Remnants' hoodoo finally broken. George slightly less handsome. Jim's not lost it. Pete demolishes stumps. Match report added. 3 May, Coton v Over II No game but a match report added anyway. Lucky you. 19 April, New Equipment Well done to the "Mechano Construction Team" on Saturday. Despite the strong winds, funny stepladders and dodgy riggers, we now have a "large" cricket cage constructed at the side of the pavillion. Rob - even your beamers would not hit the top of this net........We also have a serviced mower back at the rec........full steam ahead for the new season Fixtures 2008 The season fixtures are now available. Not so many trips to the Fens this year! Please let Andy East know of your availability asap. Full details here.
