What will we be doing?
We now have two ECB-qualified coaches (Mike & Chris) and will be mixing a variety of fun, small group games with coaching on the basic elements of cricket. Coaching will be carefully tailored to the age groups and development of the kids. For the eldest children we will be introducing them to the senior form of the game (i.e. using proper cricket ball). The Club has all of the necessary protective equipment and training resources for the children.
In addition, we plan to enter teams of various age groups in some local Kwik Cricket festivals throughout the summer. It is likely that these will take place on Sundays, and we'll confirm the details as the season unfolds.
What do you need to do?
If your child would like to attend, please complete the registration form and bring it along to the first session, together with the necessary payment.
The Annual registration fee for 2007 is £25 per child. There will be a weekly charge of £3.50 per session attended, payable at the beginning of each session. Alternatively , you can make an up-front, one-off payment of £50 covering subscription and weekly fees. The revenue from coaching will be reinvested into the Youth Coaching scheme. For example, in addition to the costs of coaching courses and equipment the club has recently purchased a mobile practice net which will help with the coaching of the older children. Our total investment this year has been about £1,500!
Just like last year we would be very pleased if parents attended and supported their children's participation, and we'd be very happy for any volunteer helpers to get involved. If you can help on a regular basis please contact Mike before 3 rd May.
Many thanks,
Mike Bullard & Chris Cooke
