All our coaches are CCA association qualified with current Child Protection and Emergency First Aid clearance.

Mike Bullard

Mike Bullard currently coordinates the youth coaching at Coton CC. Mike has a Level 1 coaching certificate from the ECB and has lived in, and played cricket for, Coton since 2002. Prior to that Mike played for a variety of local and university teams.

Mike has two daughters who are both keen participants of the Youth Section of the Club!

Chris Cooke

Chris moved to the village in 1998 and has been playing cricket for Coton ever since.  He started his playing career with Herefordshire, playing at all age-groups and captaining the under 19 side to a memorable 3-Counties tournament victory against Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.  After playing college cricket at Oxford, he then honed his competitive skills with the Old Edwardians in the Birmingham League pyramid. 

Chris' claim to fame is that he opened the batting for Old Edwardians with Jaques Kallis (then a 19 year old, playing in the UK on his first “professional” contract).  Needless to say that Jacques was duly impressed.

Chris is completed the ECB Level One Coaching course in March 2008.

When not playing cricket, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Kate and four daughters, Hollie, Alex, Anna and Ruth and the odd game of golf (this keeps his chances of scoring a hundred each season much higher).

George Speller

Although he only lived in Coton for a year, the memories have left an indelible mark on his cricketing psyche (not to mention is whites).

Originally driven by the urge to smash the windscreen of his flashy housemate's flashy sportscar, George's cricketing ambitions are now more grounded and involve wanting to help CCC become as successful as possible (the measure being a life size team photo in The Plough). Now living and teaching in Cambridge town, George has remained loyal to CCC, despite midweek deviances for Remnants, Zoology and his own All Star team (get in touch if you want a game!).

Growing up in Essex in the 90s, George's cricketing heroes are Graham Gooch and Ronnie Irani, and it gave him great pleasure to be mistaken for the former while in India (must have been the moustache). As a schoolboy he played with Graham Napier (of T20 record breaking fame - 152* from 58 balls) and has played against Neil Foster (although he didn't see much of the ball when facing him).
