Coton Cricket Club

Due to popular demand we have now moved nets to Wednesday evenings starting at 7pm. Chris' excellent coaching is available so please make the most of it!

Outdoor nets will begin on Thursday 29 April starting at 7:15pm. Please make every effort to attend!

For league games we will aim to pick the strongest team from the available members whilst providing fair opportunity for all club members to play cricket.    Selection is the responsibility of the Captain and Vice-Captain.  Please direct any comments or feedback to either George or Rob.

When more than 11 players are available we have defined a set of guidelines that will be applied during selection.  Note that these are guidelines and we will be sensible and pragmatic about selections.

• Club members that are up to date on dues/subscriptions will be given preference.
• If more than 11 paid up club members are available for a game, those regularly attending net practices will be given preference.  [Attending net practices may be impractical for some members, so let us know if this is the case.]
• For each match we will also pick a 12 th man.
• The 12 th man will be expected to be present at the match to provide help with umpiring, scoring, substituting on the field, etc. 
• In the event of someone dropping out from the team the 12 th man will be added to the team.
• The 12 th man will be guaranteed selection for the following league game,
• Consideration will be given to club members that have been available, but not selected, for previous games.  Similarly we will take into consideration club members that have indicated unavailability for games later in the season.
• Wherever possible the participation of Junior/Young players will be encouraged.

Team selection will be following the Thursday night net session preceding each game. Notification is via email so it's important that we have a valid email address for you.  Please, if possible, confirm that you have got the email so we don't have to chase you up.  If you haven't yet caught up with the 20 th century, we will contact you through landline phones to confirm.

Finally, the onus is on you to let us know when you are available to play.  If you can do this in advance and let us know (for example) when you will be away we can take this into consideration when selecting the team. 2010 Fixtures are now available here. Matches start on 1 May away to Waterbeach.

A key target for the club this season is to raise some cash towards buying a new heavy roller. We need your support so please check our fund raising activities here and help out as much as you can.

We all know that one area the club really needs to improve on this season is batting.  So please put these dates in your diary now.
